Understand the science behind 3-4 week retention.

You can have beautiful lash sets and still struggle with retention.

If you've ever changed adhesives, blamed the weather, added more primer, bought another humidifier, or wondered why one client comes back full while another loses lashes in a week — this class was created for you.

Our Fanning, Placement & Retention Masterclass teaches you the why behind retention so you can stop relying on random products, TikTok tips and trial-and-error.

This isn't another beginner lash class.

It's a hands-on advanced training designed to help working lash artists understand what's actually happening between the natural lash, your adhesive, your environment and your placement.

You'll learn how to troubleshoot retention problems instead of simply hoping your glue behaves.

WHY YOU NEED THIS CLASS:

Great retention isn't about finding a "magic" adhesive.

It's about understanding how all of the pieces work together.

Your adhesive can perform completely differently depending on room temperature, humidity, the client's natural lashes, your prep, how much adhesive you pick up, and your placement.

That's why copying another artist's exact products doesn't always give you their results.

In this class, you'll learn how to identify what is actually causing the problem — and what to change.

Instead of asking:

"What glue should I buy?"

You'll know how to ask:

"Why is my adhesive behaving this way today?"

Instead of automatically priming every client, you'll learn how to evaluate their natural lashes and prep accordingly.

Instead of simply placing an extension onto the natural lash, you'll learn how to maximize your contact zone and use wrapping techniques to create stronger attachment.

The goal is simple:

Understand retention well enough that you can troubleshoot it yourself.

Course Curriculum

What you'll learn in our masterclass:

Understand what's actually inside your adhesive and what happens when it cures.

We'll break down:

  • Cyanoacrylate and polymerization
  • PMMA and adhesive elasticity
  • Stabilizers and dry time
  • Proper adhesive usage
  • Glue drops, storage and replacement
  • Choosing the right dry time for your speed
  • Common adhesive problems and how to troubleshoot them

Your glue doesn't work independently from your lash room.

You'll learn how temperature, humidity and air movement affect adhesive performance — including why your glue can suddenly behave differently when the weather changes.

We'll cover:

  • Relative vs. actual humidity
  • Temperature and adhesive viscosity
  • Seasonal changes
  • AC, heaters, humidifiers and dehumidifiers
  • Air circulation
  • Setting up a more controlled lash environment
  • How to troubleshoot glue that's curing too fast or too slowly

Not every client's lashes should be prepped exactly the same.

You'll learn how to recognize differences in natural lashes and understand how lash shampoo, cleansers, primers and other products can affect adhesive curing.

We'll cover:

  • Natural lash pH
  • Recognizing characteristics of lower vs. higher pH lashes
  • When primer may be beneficial
  • When primer may make your adhesive cure too quickly
  • Understanding the pH of common lash products
  • Creating a customized prep routine instead of using the same routine on every client

Beautiful placement isn't only aesthetic — it affects retention.

We'll slow everything down and practice the wrist movements needed to create maximum contact between the extension and natural lash.

You'll practice:

  • Matching the curvature of the natural lash
  • Creating a larger contact zone
  • Preventing lifted bases
  • Correct adhesive pickup
  • Classic placement fundamentals that transfer directly into volume placement

Learn two volume fanning methods so you can understand not only how to create the fan, but how the base of that fan affects placement.

You'll practice:

  • Pinching
  • Glue/flower cup fanning
  • Creating clean, uniform fans
  • Proper fiber pickup
  • Narrow vs. wide fans
  • Stacked vs. bundled bases
  • Choosing safe diameters and fan sizes

This is where everything starts coming together.

You'll learn how to create a fan base that can actually wrap around the natural lash and how tiny wrist movements can increase the contact between your fan and the natural lash.

We'll cover:

  • Lash wrapping theory
  • Bundled vs. stacked bases
  • Back placement
  • Front placement
  • Side placement
  • Micro-movements used during wrapping
  • Matching the extension to the natural lash curvature

Learn how placement can be used intentionally instead of simply attaching the fan wherever the natural lash happens to grow.

We'll combine fan creation, adhesive control, contact zone and wrapping so you can practice more precise volume placement.

The goal: cleaner direction, stronger attachment and better retention.

Finally, we'll put everything together.

You'll learn how to work backward from a retention problem and determine whether the issue may be coming from:

Environment → Adhesive → Prep → Technique → Placement

So the next time something isn't working, you'll have a system for figuring out why.

What a day in our Fanning, Placement and Retention Masterclass looks like:

Two ways to train:

Small Group Masterclass

5 Hours • Maximum 4 Students

Perfect if you want full retention education and hands-on technique correction in a small group setting.

Practice is performed on a mannequin so we can focus heavily on technique, fan creation, placement, and wrapping.

Private 1:1 Masterclass

5 hours • 1:1 OR 8 Hours • 1:1 with Live Model

Want more individualized attention?

Private training gives us more time to work directly on your technique and apply class concepts on a live model.

With a live model, we'll apply theory and controlled practice to real-life application so I can watch how you prep, fan, isolate, pick up adhesive, place, and wrap—and correct issues as they happen.

THIS CLASS IS FOR YOU IF:

You're already a lash artist, but:

- Your clients aren't consistently making it 3–4 weeks between fills.
- Your retention changes whenever the weather changes.
- You keep switching adhesives hoping one will finally "work."
- You're confused about humidity and temperature.
- You automatically use primer because you were taught that everyone needs it.
- Your glue sometimes feels too fast — and other days too slow.
- Your volume fans look good but don't always stay attached.
- You struggle with lifted bases or inconsistent placement.
- You know how to lash, but no one ever really taught you why things work.
- You want to be able to troubleshoot your own retention instead of depending on another artist to tell you what product to buy.
- You don't need another random lash hack.
- You need to understand the science behind your technique.
